Baseball Drops Extra Inning Heartbreaker

The Austin College baseball team fell 4-3 in extra innings on Tuesday night in a neutral site game against the University of the Ozarks. The 'Roos are now 9-15 overall with the defeat.

Austin College fell behind 1-0 in the fifth inning before plating two in the seventh on RBI doubles from Thomas Oberg and Jeremy Halford. The 'Roos made it a 3-1 lead in the eighth on a solo homer from Trey Croft, but Ozarks plated one run in the bottom half of that inning and another in the ninth to force an extra frame. In the bottom of the 10th, Ozarks plated an unearned run to get the walk-off decision.

Oscar Gonzalez took the loss after surrendering two runs - one earned - in 1.1 innings of work in relief. The 'Roos were limited to just four hits in the game, while Ozarks picked up 13.
