'Roo Baseball Falls to No. 7 Trinity

The Austin College baseball team fell 10-1 in the third game of its weekend series at No. 7-ranked Trinity on Saturday, bringing the team's overall record to 6-4 this season.

After the Tigers struck first with a run in the bottom of the first, Austin College responded with a run of their own in the second to square things at 1-1 as Trey Croft doubled to plate Derek Hester. However, that's the last time the 'Roos would get on the board, and Trinity would add two runs in the second and one in the fourth to go ahead 4-1, with three more runs being plated in the fifth to make it a 7-1 game.

Trinity would add one more run in the seventh and two in the eighth to make it a 10-1 final. Brett Moody took the loss for Austin College, surrendering seven runs on nine hits in 5.0 innings of work. Croft finished the game going 2-for-3 and Hester went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Austin College will be looking to bounce back on Tuesday when they host UT-Dallas for a single game at Baker Field.
