The Austin College baseball team fell 16-6 to No. 8-ranked Trinity University on Saturday afternoon, dropping the team's overall record to 10-23 and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference mark to 7-9 this season. The 'Roos and Tigers will play again tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. 

The Tigers did the bulk of their damage in three innings, pushing four runs across in the third, seven in the fourth, and four more in the seventh. Trinity also added one run in the sixth after the 'Roos had battled back with five runs in the fifth. 

After falling behind 11-0 heading into that fifth inning, Josh Coughennower singled home the first run for the 'Roos and Mason Leech ripped a bases clearing double to make it a 11-4 game. Leech would score on a Will Schommer single through the right side to cut it to a six run margin. The 'Roos added a run in the sixth when Todd Takabuki crossed the plate to make it 12-6, but the Tigers would respond with four runs in the seventh and the 'Roos were unable to respond in the bottom half of the inning. 

Tyler Appelquist and Landon Hendrix were each 2-for-4 in the game and Leech finished 1-for-4 with three RBI as the 'Roos collected 10 hits in the game but committed five errors as a team. Shane Williams took the loss, surrendering four runs on five hits in 2.1 innings of work.
