Late Inning Comeback Gives Baseball Weekend Sweep of Pirates

The Austin College baseball team scored all of its runs in the final two innings as the 'Roos came from behind to earn a 5-2 win and sweep the weekend series against Southwestern University. The 'Roos are now 6-16 overall and 5-4 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the win.

After being held hitless through nearly five innings to start the game and falling behind 1-0 heading into the eighth, the 'Roos got RBI singles from Colt Herron, Mason Leech, and Austin Molinaro to plate three runs in that inning and after Southwestern scored to make it 3-2 heading into the ninth, Herron and Leech each had another RBI to put Austin College up 5-2.

Herron and Leech each had two hits and two RBI to lead the 'Roos offensively and Blaine Tew earned the win in relief, pitching 2.0 innings and giving up one run on two hits. Mychael Parrish was strong in the no decision, going 7.0 innings and allowing one run on just five hits.
