Box Score Colorado College extended its winning streak to six games with a 1-0 victory at Austin College on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore forward
Daniel Krueger scored the game's only goal in the 55th minute, taking a through ball from sophomore defender
Keenan Amer and blasting a shot past goalkeeper Joseph Khalaf.
"Daniel made a well-timed run in behind the defense and Keenan put it right in his path," head Coach
Scott Palguta said. "Daniel took one touch and fired a shot inside the near post."
With the first game winner of his career, Krueger now is tied for third on the team with three goals this season.
"It's been wonderful to see different players stepping up in each game to help us get a result," Palguta said. "Our goals have come from all over the field the past two weeks. It's been a total team effort this season."
Krueger's score was the only one CC needed thanks to a solid performance from its defense, which recorded its 10th shutout of the year.
Colorado College's
Theo Hooker made three saves while recording his eighth clean sheet of the year and the 24th of his career.
The 20th-ranked Tigers did not allow a shot by Austin forward Phillip Le, who leads the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with 11 goals, and the 'Roos didn't put a shot on frame until Jack Wheaton tested Hooker in the 52nd minute.
CC improved to 14-2-1 overall and 11-2-0 in the SCAC.
Khalaf made five saves for Austin, which dropped to 9-7-2 overall and 6-6-1 in league play.
"We are very proud of the team's business-like mentality this weekend," Palguta said. "Both games were very competitive."
Colorado College wraps up the regular season next Saturday at the University of Dallas. Kickoff in Irving, Texas, is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. CT.
