  • When entering and exiting the DFP, use the correct doors for safety flow.
  • Users must present their campus ID to the desk worker.
  • Users are required to sanitize DFP equipment before and after use with the disinfectant wipes located throughout the DFP. 

Use of the Facility

Users must complete a DFP waiver form, which they can get at either the DFP control desk or in the main Athletics Suite on the second floor of the Mason Complex, located above the south lobby.

The use of the facility is restricted to the following people during the open times that are publically posted online and throughout the Mason Complex. These times are always subject to change based on staff availability and holiday hours.

  • Enrolled students in possession of a valid AC ID
  • Current staff/faculty in possession of a valid AC ID

Dickey Fitness Pavilion (DFP) Rules and Regulations 

To maintain the positive, safe, hygienic, and user-friendly exercising environment, it is important that DFP users follow the rules and regulations. Users must read and understand these rules and regulations of the DFP. Those who fail to comply could be subject to disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from the DFP and the subsequent revoking of DFP access privileges for a period of time. 

  1. The Austin College Mason Complex/DFP liability waiver/assumption of risk packet must be completed before using DFP
  2. Users will follow all directions and instructions of the DFP staff
  3. Users must be in possession of and present an AC ID card to the desk worker for access
  4. Users will check in with desk worker 
  5. Users will not allow access of unauthorized personnel into the DFP
  6. Users of the DFP must be 14 years of age or older
  7. Facility may be reserved for use by ESS, PF, and LS classes
  8. Shirts, closed shoes, and appropriate workout clothes are required
  9. No food or drinks other than water allowed 
  10. Wearing jewelry is discouraged and should be kept away from equipment
  11. No tobacco products, including chewing tobacco, allowed in the DFP
  12. No spitting allowed except in the trash cans
  13. Phones can only be used for personal music - no texting or talking on the phone
  14. Music/window blinds controlled only by DFP staff
  15. DFP staff only behind control desk unless for academic purposes
  16. The college is not responsible for stolen personal items
  17. No horseplay, swearing, or profanity
  18. Equipment must be wiped free of sweat after use with wipes provided in the DFP
  19. No dropping or slamming weights, except the colored bumper plates
  20. No set weights in the power racks, no metal on wood platforms
  21. Use only collared bar and bumper plates for Olympic lifts
  22. Obey all posted signs
  23. Do not lean weights or bars against mirrors and walls
  24. Return all dumbbells and bars to their proper place after use
  25. Remove and re-rack all weight plates to their proper place after use 
  26. Use of a spotter with free-weights is strongly encouraged
  27. Do not modify any piece of equipment 
  28. Do not remove any piece of equipment from the DFP
  29. Immediately report any malfunctioning equipment to DFP staff
  30. Immediately report any injuries to the DFP staff
  31. Emergency doors should only be used in case of emergencies 
  32. Must use head phones with personal music devices
  33. Use provided boxes or rack scoops to step up on - do not use benches
  34. Do not jump rope in the DFP
