Beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night, the annual 'Roo Athletics Awards Convocation will begin in Sid Richardson Gym, and this year we will be streaming the event live online.
Team and departmental awards will be handed out, with team awards having been decided by the members of each program, while the departmental awards were voted upon by the Austin College athletics staff.
Among the awards to be given out tonight are the Gene Day and Pete Cawthon Awards, which are annually awarded to the top female and male student-athlete, respectively, as well as a male and female Tim Jubela Award for the top freshman student-athlete. The T. Ellis Lockhart Award will also be given out to a member of the faculty or staff, with the recipient having been selected by members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
This year's convocation was produced by senior women's basketball player Lexi Beeson, and sophomore softball players Briana and Sophia Hernandez will serve as the masters of ceremony.
