Austin College Announces New Staff Additions

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College has added multiple members to its athletics staff this fall, including additions to its football, athletic training, and women's soccer staffs.

Scott Boswell has been added as an assistant football coach to round out head coach Loren Dawson's staff. Boswell is a 1992 graduate of Midwestern State University, and received his master's degree from Lamar University in 2010. Most recently, Boswell served as the principal at City View Junior and Senior High Schools in Wichita Falls, and also has a long history as a football coach. He served as an assistant coach for the offense at Iowa Park High School from 2017-2018, and was the head coach at Burkburnett High School from 2009-2017. He also has experience in the Texas high school football world from time spent at Wichita Falls High School and Petrolia High School, and in his playing days was an All-TIAA player at Midwestern State, where he's a member of that University's Athletics Hall of Honor.

Jaya Wilson has been named Austin College's new assistant women's soccer coach, after graduating from Union University in 2021 and earning her master's degree from the University of Stirling in 2022. Wilson began her college career playing at Texas Southern, after coming to Texas from Cuyahoga, Ohio. Wilson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Union, and while there worked extensively with multiple areas of the athletics department, including field support and athletics communications. In addition to playing soccer at the Division I level for Texas Southern and Division II level at Union, she was also a Division I track and field athlete while at Texas Southern, and has worked with multiple soccer clubs as a coach while earning her D License and becoming Grassroots Certified with US Soccer. 

Dustin Green was also recently named the assistant athletic trainer for 'Roo athletics, and in his role he will serve as the primary trainer for the Austin College football program. Green is a 2014 graduate of Texas A&M-Commerce, and earned his master's degree in kinesiology from Sheffield University in 2018. Green has worked with Plano Orthopedics as an athletic trainer and Dallas Sidekicks MASL in recent years, and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association. He is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and has experience working with Austin College student-athletes in recent seasons. Along with working as a contracted trainer for 'Roo athletics, Green has also worked with organizations such as Texoma Medical Center and Texoma Physical Therapy, and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American Red Cross, and the National Association of Orthopedic Technologists, among others.
