Longaker Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's basketball player Ally Longaker.

Longaker, a senior from Half Moon May, Calif., has started her final campaign in Sherman strong, leading the 'Roos to a 4-0 record and a No. 9 national ranking in the first D3Hoops.com poll of the season. Longaker was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week after a season-opening sweep of the University of Dallas, and added two more outstanding performances as the 'Roos topped Southwestern in a pair of games. So far this year, Longaker ranks third in the SCAC scoring, rebounding, and field goal percentage, averaging 15.5 points and 9.8 rebounds-per-game while shooting 55.3% from the field. She also leads the conference with 2.8 blocks-per-game, and has added 2.0 assists-per-game as well.

Through her first three seasons, Longaker has earned All-SCAC recognition each year and helped guide the 'Roos to their first SCAC Tournament Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament last year.

Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
