Roland Named Modern Woodmen Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Devin Roland.

Roland, a senior from Little Elm, leads the 'Roos in scoring this season with an average of 15.2 points-per-game. Last weekend he topped 20 points in both of Austin College's games, including pouring in 27 in a win over Johnson & Wales University, in which he knocked down 4-of-5 three pointers. For the season, Roland is shooting 50% from the field and 48.4% from beyond the arc, as well as 80% from the free throw line. In his nine appearances this season, Roland is also grabbing an average of 4.4 rebounds, dishing out 2.0 assists, and coming away with 1.8 steals-per-game. Last year, in his first season with the program, he was an All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performer.

Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
