Hardy Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighing our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's tennis player Kenneth Hardy.

Hardy, a senior from Lubbock, has paired with teammate Siddharth Kortikere to form one of the strongest doubles teams in the West Region during the course of his career. The duo are currently ranked as the No. 6 doubles team in the region, after having been ranked No. 14 at the end of last season. Hardy has been a big part of leading the 'Roos to a No. 19 overall team ranking in the West Region as well through his outstanding play on the court as well as his leadership.

"Kenneth epitomizes the term student-athlete," said head coach Ryan Dodd. "He's a top notch student in the classroom who will represent our institution well in the medical profession, and he's a reliable teammate who sets high expectations for his peers by example and with the voice of a leader."

Hardy was named first team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and was named by the ITA as a Scholar-Athlete in 2018, in addition to serving as one of the men's tennis team's captains. Throughout the course of his career, Hardy has racked up more than 30 combined wins in singles and doubles competition. Along with his excellent work in the classroom and on the court, Hardy also serves as a member of Austin College's Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
