Austin College Kicks Off "Change for the Better" on Tuesday

SHERMAN, Texas - Beginning with Tuesday night's home basketball games against Centenary and continuing through next Tuesday's home games against the University of Dallas, the Austin College SAAC will be running the annual "Change for the Better" competition.

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committees from around the league first approved "Change for the Better" in 2015, with the contest allowing each member institution to collect as much change as possible from fans, parents, and students in support of a chosen charity over the course of one week during the conference basketball season. This year SAAC members will be collecting change at the Centenary games on January 22, home games against Schreiner on January 25, and the games against Dallas on January 29. All three days will see the women playing at 6:00 p.m. and the men following at 8:00 p.m. in Hughey Gym.

This year, the Austin College SAAC has chosen to collect change to support Grayson County's Court Appointed Special Advocates, a group that advocates on behalf of abused and neglected children in our community. Please bring your spare change to each of our six home basketball games over the next week to help us create Change for the Better!
