Dickerson Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighing our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's soccer player Hallie Dickerson.

Dickerson, a sophomore from McKinney, was recently honored by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with the Character and Community Award for her vast community service and volunteer work. A two-year starter for the Kangaroo women's soccer team, Dickerson has consistently shown high character and leadership on the field and in the community. She's committed 100 hours of community service in each of the last three years, including working with Habitat for Humanity, the Sherman Women's Crisis Shelter, and Sneed Restoration Prairie.

"Hallie is a pleasure to coach and to mentor," said assistant women's soccer coach Grace Sokolow. "She is bright, inquisitive, and brings dignity and leadership to her work both on and off the field. She is a good student, a good soccer player, a good teammate, and most importantly, a good friend."

In two seasons playing primarily as a defender for the 'Roos, Dickerson has appeared in 31 games, starting 29.

Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
