Fall Camp 2018 in Full Swing

SHERMAN, Texas - With all fall sports student-athletes now back on campus, the Austin College football, men's water polo, cross country, soccer, and volleyball teams are kicking things into gear in preparation for their upcoming seasons.

The 'Roo football team arrived first last week, having now completed their first week of training camp as they look ahead to their week one matchup against Southwestern Assemblies of God at Apple Stadium on September 1. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. against the Lions.

The men's water polo team arrived next, launching their inaugural fall camp earlier this week as they prepare for their first ever varsity match, which comes against Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island on September 1. The 'Roos will also take on Bucknell University later that day.

On Thursday, the Austin College men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball teams arrived back in Sherman and have hit the ground running in fall camp. The cross country teams are preparing for their season-opening meet at Dallas Baptist on September 1, while the volleyball team hosts the 23rd Annual Austin College Classic on August 31 and September 1. The 'Roo volleyball team will be the first Austin College program to compete this year, taking on Hendrix College in Hughey Gym at 4:00 p.m. that Friday.

The men's and women's soccer teams will also be in action at home on August 31, with the women taking on McMurry University at 6:00 p.m. while the men will be playing under the lights against McMurry at 8:00 p.m. at the Dr. Jack Pierce Memorial Soccer Complex.
