We hope you enjoy your Jan Term Break, #RooNation.  When you come back on campus, our campus Athletic Teams will have a completely different look.  When you last were on campus, Swimming & Diving and Basketball were your opportunities to watch our Student-Athletes in action.  When you return, Softball will have completed their first weekend of competition, and Baseball and Tennis will be practicing in anticipation of their seasons beginning.

Everyone is on the road, but we have last weekend’s games to recap, and next weekend’s home competitions to preview.  This is your first February installment of the AC Athletics Update!

Softball

Though we are disappointed they are on the road, we couldn’t be more excited for the opening of the 2018 Softball Season.  The Kangaroos are in Abilene this weekend taking on Hardin-Simmons, McMurry, and Millsaps.  Wish them loads of luck as Coach Kelly Sylvester begins her first competition as Head Coach of our ‘Roos Softball program.

    • Away vs. McMurry at 12:00PM
    • Away vs. Hardin-Simmons at 3:00PM
  • Saturday, February 2nd, 2019
    • Neutral vs. Millsaps at 10:00AM
    • Away vs. McMurry at 1:00PM

Women’s Basketball

The ‘Roos steamrolled their SCAC opponents by a combined score of 155-94 as they moved to 16-3 (9-1) on the season; still atop the Conference Standings.

And this weekend couldn’t get any more exciting.  The Women’s Basketball Team travels to San Antonio and Kerrville to take on Trinity and Schreiner.  With only 3 weekends left before the SCAC Tournament, you will Not want to miss next weekend when the Kangaroos host Colorado College and JWU in their final home games of the regular season.

Good luck this weekend AC!  We’re rooting for you.

Men’s Basketball

In a thrilling game decided by 2 points, the Kangaroos Men’s Basketball Team fell to Schreiner 74-76 at home on Friday, then fell to 7-12 (3-7 SCAC) when they dropped a home game against University of Dallas 70-87 on Tuesday.

A rematch between AC and Trinity is on the docket for today, as the ‘Roos are in San Antonio to tip off against the Tigers at 7:30PM, and then roll into Kerrville on Saturday to face the Mountaineers at 6:00PM.

Remember to circle next weekend in your AC Athletics calendars, because the last two home games of the regular season take place on Friday, February 8th, and Saturday, February 9th (Senior Night), but wish our ‘Roos good luck this weekend, as these SCAC games mean a lot to the rest of the year.
