AC Athletics Update, 10/17/2018

History-making and inspiring, #RooNation.  That is how to best classify the weekend that was in Austin College Athletics.  Our Men’s Water Polo Team logged its first win in program history, Football got a huge road win over perennial power Millsaps, and Volleyball hung tough with some of the best teams in the nation.

Swimming & Diving starts its season this weekend, Water Polo travels to California, Soccer is at home with both Senior Days taking place on Sunday, and Football travels to Alabama to battle Birmingham-Southern.  This installment of the AC Athletics Update is officially chock-full of content, so let’s not waste another character before getting to it!

Women’s Volleyball

A thrilling game against the #24 Ranked Team in the Country, UMHB, came down to a decisive fifth set yesterday in Hughey Gymnasium as the Kangaroos played admirably in a defeat to the Crusaders.  The ‘Roos fell in another 5th set against a nationally ranked competitor, Colorado College, this past weekend, taking the first two sets against the Tigers, and even registering a “match-point” against the 2-loss SCAC foe.

In addition to both of those close contests, the ‘Roos picked up two major victories over Dallas and Johnson & Wales, as they go into a big weekend in Hughey Gymnasium on Saturday.  The ‘Roos will be hosting Centenary and Southwestern at 11:00AM & 5:00PM, so make your way to the Mason complex and show them support in 2 of their last 3 home games of the regular season.
