Roenigk Hired as Assistant Trainer, Williams Elevated to Head Trainer

The Austin College athletics department has hired Ryan Roenigk as its new assistant athletic trainer, while Caitlin Williams, who served as the assistant athletic trainer last year, has been elevated to the position of head athletic trainer, athletics director David Norman has announced.

Roenigk comes to Austin College after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Kalamazoo College while working toward his master's degree in athletic training from Western Michigan University. While at Kalamazoo, Roenigk worked with the football, basketball, and softball programs for primary sport coverage, while also assisting with swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball, cross country, and golf.

Roenigk received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo in 2015. He served as a student trainer at the Division I school, serving the sports of softball, women's basketball, football, and women's soccer. Roenigk is American Red Cross certified in CPR/AED, a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Williams came to Austin College prior to the 2016-17 academic year in the role of assistant athletic trainer after receiving her master's degree in athletic training from Stephen F. Austin State University. She received her bachelor's degree in kinesiology and exercise science from the University of Arkansas in 2013.
