Michael Holland, Basketball

Michael Holland, a freshman from Waxahachie on the Austin College men's basketball team, had an outstanding week for the 'Roos as the team split its two games over the Thanksgiving break. Holland averaged 21.0 points and 13.0 rebounds as Austin College fell to Texas-Tyler and defeated Hendrix.

Holland, who leads the 'Roos in both scoring and rebounding on the year, averaging a double-double through his first six games, also shot 66.7% from the field, 66.7% from three-point range, and made all eight of his free throw attempts in the two games. He also chipped in 2.0 assists-per-game. In the road victory at Hendrix, Holland went for a career-best 30 points and added 13 rebounds.

So far this year, Holland has double-doubles in four of the team's six games and ranks among the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference leaders in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, steals, and blocked shots. He's also one of just four players in the conference currently averaging a double-double.
